Sharon was called to the Karen Tribal people in April 1985 while on a two week "Exposure Trip" team to Thailand. The Lord miraculously provided for her trip and she went in obedience to Him, but with no thought of ever becoming a missionary.  After confirming His call, she returned to a jungle Karen village to teach English.  She though it would be a six month assignment.  "Man makes his plans but the Lord directs his steps"  (Prov 16:9)

She ministers to the Karen tribal people along the Thai/Burma border.  Her ministry includes sharing the gospel and discipling new converts.  She also acquires and distributes relief supplies to displaced people.  Another aspect of the ministry includes helping to build a network of key contacts in Karen villages and refugee camps who can minister and encourage those in need.  This includes providing support for a Bible school, an orphanage, the handicapped children/Family Home, village schools and internally displaced people.

Special Prayer Needs

  • For salvation for the Burmese Government leaders and a quick end to the ongoing war

  • Pray for the Karen to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, having a vibrant relationship with Him and to trust in the Lord for all their needs.

  • To have security in Jesus and not live in fear

  • For the 21,000+ Karen refugees arriving in America, pray for Christian churches and Christians to reach out to them.

  • For the on-going monthly needs of the Family Home.

  • We need laborers & visionaries in medical, teaching English, Bible, construction, etc.
